Posted in Corporate News, Internet on January 7th, 2009 by sunshine – Be the first to commentChairman B. Ramalinga Raju’s admission that Satyam Computer Services Ltd’s (India and also listed in the NASDAQ) Balance Sheet was completely fabricated got the stock crashing down by 66.5 per cent to Rs 60 from Wednesday’s high of Rs 188.70. Apple, Google & Microsoft get sued!
Posted in Apple, Corporate News, Google, Microsoft on December 27th, 2008 by sunchandy – Be the first to commentCygnus, a small Indiana company, has sued the Big Three of Tech — Microsoft, Apple, and Google — claiming that it holds the patent on a common file preview feature used by browsers and operating systems to show users small snapshots of the files before they are opened. Cygnus’s owner and president, Gregory Swartz, developed the technology laid out in the patent while working on IT consulting projects. The company is looking for "a reasonable royalty" as well as a court injunction preventing further infringement. Cygnus applied for its patent (# 7346850) in 2001. It covers a ‘System and Method for Iconic Software Environment Management’ and was granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office in March of this year.
